The day wasn't too bright, being overcast and all, but the snow made it so pretty. Much better than the dull view of dead grass nearer to the camp... Sunblaze stood out against the white, his thick, scarred pelt fluffed up against the wind. His tattered ear flicked towards the badger den, as if he was still wary of its inhabitant, while his razor sharp claws dug into the stony soil beneath his paws.
Tail-tip twitching, he crept forwards, towards an unseen, unknown enemy, and leaped, snarling loudly. He crashed into the pile of snow he'd piled up, frost covering his face and neck. He couldn't help but shiver slightly in the cold from sticking his head in the snow, and he shook his head to shake the ice off. It was so boring around camp... There were so few apprentices to tease and have fun with! All the warriors were always out doing patrols like they were afraid that some other Clan would invade... His stomach rumbled. Lot of good that'd do them... Even starving, he'd like to see them try!
He turned, covering the hole he'd made with snow. Since there was no one to play with, he was going to train with the snow instead!

Tiny insects wriggled around the cold dirt, stirred from their slumber by something much larger slinking through their tunnel. Its fur bristled with anticipation, the vibrations startling the things living in the earth around it. It crept towards the covered opening, eyeing the dull light shining through the crystalline casing. Out of nowhere, the snow exploded inward, shrapnel of ice crystals stinging the face of the creature. It drew back from the bright light, blinking wildly to rid its eyes of the effects of the sudden flash. Its squinted, glimmering eyes watched as the exit was slowly hidden with more snow. Again, it snuck forward, sharp ears thrust towards the snow pile. Now!
From the depths of the burrow burst a majestic sight. A she-cat, a dusting of snow clinging to her pelt and sparkling madly even in the shrouded sun’s rays, leapt through the air as if a warrior of StarClan had descended from the stars. Flakes of snow flowed off her pelt, trailing behind her like a path of stardust. She let out a fierce battle cry, soaring through the air towards the tom. For the deputy of their clan, this was the best way to test a warrior’s readiness for battle.

Sunblaze's ear twitched. A faint scratching was head. Like prey... He turned, just as a shape exploded from his snow pile, his eyes going wide. A familiar spattering of black spots against a dark pelt caught his eye briefly before the creature bowled into him, a yowl of surprise leaving his throat. He instantly rolled with the weight, using his large size to pick up momentum as they rolled. He dug his sharp claws into the intruder's shoulders, his muzzle pressed firmly against soft fur. When he breathed, he could pick up an all-too-familiar scent.
Instantly he sheathed his claws, leaping away. He urged his ginger pelt to lay flat with a flick of the tongue, his eyes sparkling. "Well, isn't it the lovely Mintleaf, come to grace me with her presence," he mrrowed, smirking. "That was quite the entrance. Nice effect, what with the snow and all." He flicked her ear. "Is this another surprise attack from the beautiful queens?" he teased, grinning playfully. Though, he had to admit, Mintleaf was quite the creature to think that up...

The two tumbled through the mouse-height depth of snow blanketing the ground. She felt the warrior’s sharp claws prickling into skin on her shoulders and take control of their rolling. When he broke away from his now recognized clanmate, she finished out her rotation and then bounced to her paws unfazed. “Brr, that’s cold!” she giggled, vehemently shaking the snow off her pelt. “How do you all stand it?” She fluffed up her fur against the chilly air, preferring the stuffy tunnels to the cold moor.
“I have to keep my warriors on their paws,” she snickered, peering at Sunblaze out of the corner of her eyes. “You did well against my ambush,” she acknowledged with a slight dip of her head. “Good thing I wasn’t a nasty fox, though,” she waved her tail playfully, “Or I would have made crow food out of you.” She started to pad back towards the burrow entrance, her body language taunting him like a kit. We trained together as apprentices, she thought, I know you can do better than that.

He chuckled, his eyes bright as he fluffed out his own coat. "Plenty of experience!" he meowed proudly. Then he blinked, staring after her a moment. He smirked. "Oh really? Crowfood, eh?" he mused, a devious twinkle in his eyes. "A lady like yourself, making a big, strong tom like me crowfood?" His voice was indignant but amused.
He followed stealthily, his large paws quiet against the sparkling snow. After a moment he paused, letting her get a bit ahead of him. Then he pounced, aiming for her shoulders, his tail lashing playfully behind him and his paws outstretched.
