Above a blue-gray cat, lies the bright blue sky, streaked with fluffy white clouds. Currently, the puffy masses were hiding the warm sun, which didn't help the she-cat who was currently padding her way around the territory. Each light step was met by a crunch when her paw sank all the way to the frozen earth. Flicking her pale green eyes across the moor, her eyes caught on Outlook Rock. Oh, her favorite place. Nosing through some tall grass, Cinderstar flicked her tail tip. She looked over her shoulder at the small patrol she'd taken.
Her steps became quicker as the group neared the large rock and the surrounding ones. Yes, this was a border patrol, but there would be no harm in stopping to take in the view for a few quick seconds. Unsheathing her hidden claws, Cinderstar grasped at the rocks, now slippery with ice and melted snow. Of course now was the time the sun decided to make it's presence known, and she squinted away from the bright light. Pushing off her hind legs, she landed neatly on the second largest of the gray boulders. With another quick leap, she was atop the tallest one.
Blinking to focus her vision, the she-cat let out a quiet sigh, the only evidence being the cloud of condensed vapor swirling around her muzzle. Little white snow crystals glinted and sparkled as the sun's rays hit them just right. She had to admit, that even though she hated leaf-bare with a burning passion, it did make things pretty.

Poppycloud followed after the patrol, lagging towards the end. Her paws hurt and she was tired. She wanted to go back to camp and sleep for a while, but of course she still had duties to deal with... She let out a quiet 'mrrow' as she almost ran into Cinderstar, her ears flattening and her fur burning in embarrassment. "Sorry," she mewed, her voice muffled. She moved away, being extra careful on the slick rocks. She pawed mindlessly at some lichen before turning to Cinderstar. "I doubt anyone wants to come near our borders," she meowed, shuddering in the cold.

Cinderstar huffed out a long breath of air. "No worries," she murmured to Poppycloud. The WindClan leader had noticed the dark warrior had been lagging a bit, and hoped a quick little break with gain her some energy back. No doubt, every cat on this patrol was exhausted, including herself. Actually, she was quite sure that all the clans suffered from this shared tiredness. Leaf-bare could be a big pain in the rump, the she-cat turned back toward Poppycloud.
"I doubt so too, in this weather. But, as it is said, better to be safe than sorry, hm?" The leader tipped her head to the side as a shiver ran down her spine. She flicked her gaze back over the land. A sigh escaped her. Barren land was never a good thing. "Well then, let's mark this border and head back to camp, shall we?"

Poppycloud nodded, her eyes narrowing slightly. If Cinderstar thought the same as she, then why...? She sighed. It was all so troublesome... She shook her paws, trying to get rid of the cold in her bones. "Alright." she mewed indifferently, padding on. She knew that the sooner this patrol was over with, that she could retire to her den for a nice, long nap. Sunblaze had probably brought back some prey. He almost always did. So...
She sighed, her thoughts drifting once more to the thoughts of running to live with the two-legs on their farm, on the outskirts of their territory. It would certainly be more accommodating to a cat like herself...
