CLAN:
windclan.RANK:
warrior.
REASON FOR NAME:
raccoon - the markings on his face reminded his mother of a raccoon.
face - his face is his most dominant feature.
APPEARANCE:
body - like most windclan cats, raccoonface is long and lean. his muscles aren't bulky, but are the lean muscles of a runner. his legs and tail are fairly long and thin. his fur is short. it is thin in newleaf and greenleaf, but thickens up in leaf-fall and leafbare. speaking of his fur, it is clear to see that somewhere in his lineage was a siamese cat. his family has been in windclan for generations, though, and no one can remember where that breed might have gotten into his gene pool. in any case, it is fairly clear. his fur has a creamy white base that is splotched by shades of brown.
face - raccoonface's face is is most prominent feature, this is made very clear by his name. his face has a mask on it like a raccoon. this mask is made up of varying shades of brown, with two dark brown rings surrounding his eyes. his eyes are pale blue, and pop against the brown background of his face. he has a small dark brown splotch on his nose, but other than that his muzzle is white.
PERSONALITY:
flirty - even since his apprentice days, raccoonface has been a very flirty cat. he would often amuse the older she-cats in the clan by flirting with them. though the flirting with the older she-cats was harmless, he still definitely saw their beauty. raccoonface is pretty smooth tongued, and knows exactly what to say to make the ladies swoon. in most cases, anyway. though he is flirty, he isn't a philanderer by any means. most of his flirting is harmless, or at least that's the way he sees it. just because he is flirting with a she-cat doesn't mean he has any interest in entering any sort of relationship with them. and if he ever were to get a mate, he would try to put his flirty nature on the back-burner. he is a very loyal cat, and this would extend to his mate as well.
easy going - raccoonface is a very laid-back cat. he doesn't take life, or anything in it, too seriously. he doesn't understand why cats get their fur in a knot over the littlest of things. so what if thunderclan was hunting close to the border? as long as they stay on their side of the border, they aren't doing anything wrong. he believes that cats like to blow things out of proportion a lot, and will often wave things off that other cats would take seriously. this causes some cats in windclan to get annoyed with him, but he shrugs that off easily enough too. he knows how to take things seriously when it is actually a serious problem.
loyal - raccoonface is unwaveringly loyal to windclan, his friends, his family, and the warrior code. though he seems like a cat that would wave something like the warrior code and clan duties off, he takes them very seriously. he feels like the warrior code is the only thing separating his clan from kittypets and loners, and he gets very upset if he sees cats straying from the code. he won't even have friendly relationships with cats outside of his clan. they might be "harmless" at first, but he's seen plenty of times what they have the ability to turn into.
understanding - raccoonface is an understanding and empathetic cat. it is very easy - perhaps too easy - for him to put himself in the place of others. he can actually be quite emotional, though he tries to hide it behind a tough facade. the death of a kit, a clan-mate, even the death of a cat in another clan can cause him to feel sad for days. he just thinks of how all of the cats close to that cat must be feeling. the hurt. the pain. he can't imagine it. what if it was his mother? one of his close friends? just the thought of it makes him want to keep them locked in camp at all times. of course, he keeps these feelings covered up as much as he can. no she-cat wants a mate more emotional than her, after all.
compassionate - going along with being empathetic, raccoonface is also compassionate. when he hears that another is clan is having a lot of trouble, he always battles within himself about helping them. more than once he has expressed his concerns to other cats in the clan, but they blow it off. he feels like if windclan has plenty of catmint and shadowclan needs it, they should share it. it's only the right thing to do, after all. but not all cats feel like this. sometimes he feels torn himself. he should be looking out for windclan, and only windclan, not worrying about the other clans as well.
HISTORY:
kithood - raccoonkit was born just before the leaves started to fall. he was born to doverfeather and hailfrost. like most of the cats born in his family, he had peculiar brown markings on a white base. he inherited his father's ice-blue eyes, however. his mother and father never "loved" each other in any sense of the word. dovefeather had wanted kits, and hailfrost had obliged. though his parents weren't mates, and hailfrost was actually courting another she-cat in the clan, his family was happy. hailfrost came and played with him daily, and his mother took excellent care of him. his mother never resented hailfrost for finding a she-cat he could have a typical relationship with, and when gorsewhisker joined her in the nursery days before raccoonkit became raccoonpaw, the two she-cats got along very well.... after dovefeather's reassurances that she and hailfrost were only friends. gorsewhisker even put forth an effort in getting to know raccoonkit, and he always liked her.[/blockquote]
apprenticeship - the day he became raccoonpaw was one of the most exciting days of his life. he quivered as his mother held him down, trying to make his pelt shiny and smooth for his ceremony. cinderstar assigned him a mentor in the form of adderfang. adderfang was a rigid, older warrior who stuck to the code as if his life depended on it. it was under adderfang's watchful eye that raccoonpaw honed his skills and developed the fierce loyalty he now harbors for his clan and the warrior code. though sometimes - quite a bit - he was distracted by she-cats, adderfang managed to keep him on course and trained him to be an asset to his clan.
warriorhood - at fourteen moons, raccoonpaw received his warrior name. he was a bit older than most apprentices when he received his name, but it was really through no fault of his own. before he would even consider recommending racconpaw for his assessment, adderfang made sure he was as close to perfect as he could be in all of his skills.
cinderstar called the rest of the clan, and dubbed him raccoonface. his mother, father, mentor, and gorsewhisker stood proudly looking on. raccoonface had never felt happier in his life. on that day he swore to uphold the warrior code and protect his clan with his life. he intends to live up to those promises no matter what.
