Hazelbrook peered into the glassy water which surrounded her. She was perched on a large, flat rock which the cold water flowed around splashing sparkling droplets onto her already damp fur. She shivered as the cold wind blew around her. It was cold, very cold, she could already feel her nose freezing even though she had only been out for a few minutes.
A silvery shape soon caught her attention as a trout knocked drunkenly against the rocks as it was harshly swept through the rapid water. Hazelbrook positioned her paw carefully and scooped up the creature, tossing it to the bank. She leaped over and bit its throat, putting an end to its feeble struggle.
White shapes began falling from the overcast sky they stuck to Hazelbrook's fur, causing her more discomfort as it melted through her fur and onto her skin, causing her to shiver violently. She pulled herself together, she was already seen as weak for being half rouge, she couldn't let her clanmates see her like this, even though anycat would be freezing in this weather.

She never asked Nightpool about leaving the camp in search of herbs. On her own. This was a horrible idea, but she didn't want the tom to waste his 'precious' time with herb collecting, so she took it upon herself to do so. Besides, he probably would have scowled and told her she was wasting his time just by asking. Oh well.
The young tabby bounded through the snow, her small size proving to make movement very difficult. She had to jump in order to take a step. This was just pathetic, but she couldn't waste her own time thinking about it. No, she had herbs to find! She paused her rabbit hops, nosing around the snow. Nope, there was nothing there. The she-cat sneezed, shaking her head out of the snow.
Lavender eyes blinked, scanning the snow for any signs of surviving plant life. Nothing. Perhaps she should go towards the river? The water should have kept away most of the snow, except for the parts that were starting to freeze over. Hushedpaw shook her pelt, beginning her rabbit hops through the snow once more. As the river came into view, she halted, perking her ears. She could see... Well, it looked like one of the warriors! Hazelbrook to be exact. The Medicine Cat Apprentice glanced around, twitching her bushy tail. A little break wouldn't be too bad... She bounded towards the rock, stopping and sitting down by the base of the rock. She peered up at the warrior, tilting her head to the side. "Ma'am?"

[[OOC: Your table makes mine feel very inadequate D:]]
Hazelbrook turned quickly, her fur bristling in alarm. "Oh, erm, Hello, I didn't hear you come up." Hazelbrook admitted sheepishly. Who is this.... Um.... Oh! It's Hushedpaw! Hazelbrook thought quickly, feeling slightly relieved that she could remember the name of the young she-cat. She tilted her head to the side. "Does your mentor know you're out here?" Hazelbrook asked. She knew that a medicine cat wasn't out alone a lot, especially an apprentice.
The cold breeze ruffled through her fur again, she turned her nose up towards the crisp air and more frozen, sparkling droplets of snow twirled majestically to the ground, sticking to her fur and evaporating when it touched her skin. She shook herself to disguise a shiver as a strong gust stormed through the area. She stared at the fish she had caught, she pawed at it, brushing off the thin layer of snow. Her tail twitched. I don't believe it is a good idea to stay outside very much longer in any case, it's just getting colder and colder." She meowed, peering down at Hushedpaw.

She shrunk back down into the snow, trembling against the snow walls around her. She didn't mean to upset her! But, of course, sneaking up like that wasn't very smart of her. The young apprentice gulped, watching the warrior with wary purple eyes.
Her ears perked, twitching at the mention of her mentor. She looked down at her paws, realizing just how close she still was to the ground. Oh well. Being surrounded by the snow was actually warmer than being hit by the wind. "N-no... He doesn't." She kneaded into the ground with her claws, her anxiety obviously sticking out like a sore paw.
Hushedpaw turned her gaze back up to the warrior, unblinking. She was fine with being out in the open. She was small enough that the snow actually shielded her from harsh, icy winds. Though there was still the possibility of a hawk or some other predator who hasn't hit the hay for leaf-bare to come and steal her away from her dark coat against the snow. She hesitantly nodded, curling her tail around her body. If Hazelbrook wanted to head back to camp, she was going to have to lead the way.
